I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1973, to a family filled with amazing artists that always inspired me. In 2007, I moved from Rio to Austin-TX, with my wife and two daughters, to work in an amazing industry that always inspired me. For the last 3+ years I’ve been the Art Director of QC Games working on Breach, our first, and final, game. Breach is a fun fast paced online multiplayer action RPG with dungeons filled with creatures and super cool 4v1 mechanics where one player gets to be a sort of Dungeon Master Troll that complicates things for the 4 heroes trying to clean the map up. It’s a very different, unique, game. Placed in a world that is also quite unique. Being one of the original eight founders of the company, I had the amazing opportunity of taking part of every single step of this journey, from the creation of the studio itself, its pillars, its values, the initial brainstorms of ideas for our first title, the world, the mythology, the influences, to defining processes, building the team, staffing up, letting people go, dealing with publishers, partners, strategies, early access launch, working on a live product and, unfortunately, having to deal with the premature end of this cycle for reasons that go beyond our control and, I suppose, are the ultimate risk of being part of a startup or, in fact, being part of this industry. QC closed just before completing 4 years. It has been the most rewarding experience I could have wished for. It was an immense privilege to be part of that team and I cannot thank them enough for their hard work and passion. Before QC, I spent almost eight years at BioWare. I started as Senior Character Artist in 2007 and left as Character Director in 2015, having worked on StarWars: The Old Republic, Shadow Realms, Saga and Dragon Age Inquisition: The Descent DLC. Before BioWare I worked remotely, from Brazil, as a game artist, graphic designer and illustrator for several projects. I'm the proud father of three amazing daughters (yeah, one was born here). And if I'm not working, I just want to be with them. Thanks for your time, Pedro |
